Game Script Expected

Expect Miles Sanders to be used early and often in this matchup. The Houston Texans have been the worst NFL Rush Defense allowing 186 yards per game. This is 30 more yards per game than the next closest team in Chicago Bear. As the last few weeks have taught us, adjustments in the defensive scheme won’t help the Texans. They simply do not have the horses to adjust to stop the run. Last week the Texans had 8 to 9 men in the box constantly. But it was to no avail, as Henry went on to rush for 219 yards and two touchdowns. This plays right into the Eagle’s hand, who have the 6th most rushing yards per game and the second in the NFL in rushing attempts per game. This is a dream matchup for a run-heavy and elite offense in the Eagles [3rd in the NFL in points]. I expect them to score in bunches, and Vegas agrees as well, with a 29.5 expected total. This is the type of game players love because it will help them pad their stats to help hit end-of-season incentives.

For Texans, I expect them early on to try and play power run football to keep the high-flying Eagles’ offense off the field as much as possible. With the likelihood of this being a fool’s errand and likely to fall behind early, I do not expect them to adjust their game plan. Like the Falcons, due to their limited weapons, Lovi Smith and the Texans are putting their weekly faith in Dameon Pierce. Evident by Lovi Smith’s numerous comments stating he wants to get Pierce more touches and more involved, despite his already high workload. Since Pierce took command of the offense in week 3, Pierce has averaged 19 rush attempts per game. Add in that the Texans are without their top receivers in, Brandin, and Cooks, for personal reasons, and Nico Collins due to injury, and the Eagles have a top-five pass Defense and middle-of-the-road rush defense, and their hand is forced into a run-heavy script.

Expected Results: Eagles Win and Cover a 14-point spread. Over 45.5 hits

Favorite Bets on the Slate:  Dameon Pierce over 66.5, Miles Sanders Over 79.

Favorite GPP Captains’ Favorite Plays: Miles Sanders, Dameon Pierce, Devonta Smith, Jalen Hurts,

Favorite Non-Captain Lineup Plays:  Eagles D, Miles Sanders, Dameon Pierce, DeVonta Smith, Jalen Hurts, Dallas Goedert, AJ Brown
